After most of the motorsport series being canceled or postponed due to the virus pandemic, our only way to get our racing fix comes thankfully via the virtual world of esports.

This includes the first-ever virtual round of the Nurburgring Endurance Series, which kicks off on Saturday, March 21, with a four-hour race at the German track. More than 50 cars will participate in the field, split into four classes, attracting real pro racing drivers to race against the best sim racers.

For example, BMW will be officially present with Jens Klingmann and Martin Tomczyk, as well as Dan Harper and Neil Verhagen, sharing driving duties on a Z4 GT3. The virtual race will be livestreamed at VLN’s official website at 13:00 CET (08:00 AM ET).

The racing action doesn’t stop there, as the second round of the All-Star Esports Battle will launch at 20:00 CET (15:00 PM ET) on the Youtube channel of The Race, gathering up to 60 professional racing drivers to go against sim racers. BMW will be present with Maximilian Günther from BMW i Andretti Motorsport and Philipp Eng from BMW’s DTM team.

IMSA fans will also get to see some GTE action, following the postponement of the Sebring 12 Hours. The virtual race will be held on the iRacing sim platform , where BMW will race four M8 GTE factory race cars, with Bruno Spengler, Jesse Krohn, Colton Herta and Nick Catsburg sitting behind the wheel.

In total, more than 20 BMW M8 GTE race cars are set to race on the virtual 90-minute IMSA Super Sebring race. Racing drivers like Sebastian Priaulx, Andy Priaulx,Tyler Cooke and former Formula 1 driver Felipe Nasr will also be present. The Super Sebring will start at 14:30 EST (09:30 AM ET) and will broadcast on the iRacing eSports Network on Youtube and Twitch.
