New Jesko Absolut Is And Will Remain The Fastest Koenigsegg Ever Made

Koenigsegg wants to write another chapter in the automotive history book with the all-new Jesko Absolut.

Unveiled alongside the Gemera at their 2020 Geneva Motor Show stand, the Swedish carmaker adamantly states that “it is the fastest Koenigsegg ever made, and the company will never endeavor to make a faster series-production road car – ever”.

While that alone may be a bold claim, the Jesko Absolut is a bold model. It features a drag coefficient of 0.278 Cd, courtesy of the aerodynamic revisions. It’s capable of providing a maximum downforce of 1,400 kg (3,086 lbs), including 800 kg (1,764 lbs) at 250 km/h (155 mph) and 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs) at 275 km/h (171 mph).

This allows it to “achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it”. The Swedish exotic automaker hasn’t revealed any top speed estimates, stating that “only time will tell”, but by “looking at the math and our advanced simulations, it will be unbelievably fast”.

The aerodynamic enhancements include the deletion of the hood scoop and front canards. It also lacks the big wing, adding two fins instead that were inspired by the F-15 fighter jet, which stabilize it at high speeds and contribute to the low drag coefficient. The hypercar has different 21-inch rear wheels, shod in 325/30 tires, and more compact front suspension, which could be made softer at all four corners. Users will be able to store the roof panel in the frunk.

The 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 carries over from the Jesko, hooked up to a 9-speed transmission and electronic differential, delivering 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet (1,500 Nm) of torque on E85 fuel, and 1,280 HP on regular 95-octane gasoline.
