Restowrong 1987 Chevy Camaro With 5th-Gen Camaro Front And Rear Ends

On first impressions, you could be forgiven for thinking this is a fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. However, it isn’t, and is instead a third-generation model from 1987 that’s been modified to resemble a fifth-gen.

These images were recently shared on the RGV Cars Trucks Parts Sale Trade group on Facebook and show that the owner of the modified muscle car is looking to sell it. In the posting, the seller says “Please keep all negative comments to yourself,” so he clearly understands that this is a rather controversial way to modify a Camaro.

Adorning both the front and rear fascias of the car are the bumpers, lights, and grilles of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS, according to the seller. We’re doubtful that they are genuine OEM parts, however, and are likely replicas.

The fifth-gen Camaro is quite an attractive car but these photos show that its front and rear simply do not suit the shape of a third-gen model. In particular, the front overhang is hilariously long and looks utterly out of place. The car clearly hasn’t been well maintained either and is pictured behind a fence with one flat tire and severely degraded paint.

Powering the “restomod” is reportedly a 350 cubic-inch V8 although it is unclear if this is the original engine that the car came with.

While this Camaro is sinfully ugly, not all hope is lost as it could serve as a good project car and the basis for a restoration, as long as the seller is willing to hand it over for cheap.
