A restomod 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson during its Palm Beach, Florida event, running from October 15-17. That could be enough time to get your finances together (well, that’s if the fallout from the Coronavirus outbreak doesn’t get the better of us by then).
This particular Corvette Split-Window spent most of its life just like any other until Jeff Hayes Customs got a hold of it and set about bringing it into the 21st century. The comprehensive restoration was completed in 2019 and the finished result is absolutely staggering.

Underpinning the classic American sports car is a new Art Morrison chassis that incorporates bespoke front and rear sway bars and Strange Engineering self-dampening shocks. Also found beneath the skin are massive Wilwood brakes with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear. The ‘Vette has also been equipped with power steering, power windows, a power hood, and a new air conditioning and heating system.
Grunt comes courtesy of a GM LS3 V8 engine with a cool 540 hp that’s been mated to a 4L70E automatic overdrive transmission with a polished Lokar shifter that drives the rear wheels. Not only does this engine offer up good power but it also looks like a work of art thanks to the chrome finish.
Inside, the Corvette sports a Billet Specialties steering wheel, a chrome steering column, and all-new red leather upholstery. There’s even a futuristic backlight in the trunk and beneath those iconic split rear windows. Helping the car stand out from the outside are staggered wheels measuring 18-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear.
The car will be auctioned off with no reserve.
