The all-new 2020 Corvette C8 is just the latest in a long line of iconic and/or intriguing U.S. nameplates to capture everyone’s attention on the internet (yes, the other ones are the Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport, which by the way, has been leaked in case you haven’t noticed).
Before their time, the spotlight was on the Jeep Gladiator, and before that, the likes of the Challenger Hellcat/Demon. Nowadays, all eyes are on the new Vette or the Mustang Mach-E, so people are definitely going to take notice if either of the two finds itself damaged on top of a flatbed truck.
That’s what seems to be going on in this image, posted by one Kenneth Junior on the C8 Corvette Owners (And Friends) Facebook page.

However, some people claimed in the comments section that the image looks fake upon first glance. That tear in the door underneath the mirror seems like it was put there digitally, but other than that, the rest of the damage looks real.
First of all, anybody altering this image would have had to know how that side vent trim was attached to the body, because the bolts seem real enough – as does the busted taillight with the exposed LEDs.
There’s also detailed damage to the left rear wheel, rear bumper and of course, the fuel cap is missing. Seems like an awful lot of work if it’s a digitally manipulated picture. What do you think?
Other incidents involving the C8 Corvette include a black example whose wheels were stolen in Detroit back in January, as well as a pre-production unit crashing in the snow while driving down the I-75, also in Detroit.
