A new teaser image of the forthcoming 2021 VW Nivus has surfaced before the urban crossover’s introduction in Europe and Brazil.
This teaser, showing the Nivus from the front three-quarter, reveals that it looks like a mix between the Polo, T-Cross and T-Roc. As such, there are headlights with incorporated LED daytime running lights that seamlessly merge with a slim front grille featuring chrome horizontal slates.
Elsewhere, we can see the Nivus gets a large lower grille and individual fog lights. The sloped roofline mimics that of the T-Roc and the example featured also has roof rails, just like the T-Roc and T-Cross.

A previous video teaser of the VW Nivus revealed that a large infotainment display will take pride of place in the dashboard. This display will include touch-sensitive buttons and offer LTE connectivity as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Other interior touches will include a fully digital gauge cluster and a sleek flat-bottomed steering wheel with metallic accents.
Examples of the VW Nivus sold in Brazil will feature a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 114 hp. The unit will be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission as standard but a dual-clutch ‘box will be offered as an option, lifting power to 126 hp. South American models will only be available in front-wheel drive guise. No powertrain details about European-bound Nivus models are known at this time.
VW will unveil the South American-spec Nivus this spring before the European version is unveiled in 2021.
