Own a Mercedes-Benz X-Class, enjoy cycling, and want to go an adventure – well, at least when the coronavirus pandemic is over? If you can answer to the affirmative for all three, then tuner Pickup Design has the perfect option for you.
Pickup Design is the truck-focused off-spring of Carlex Design and offers a host of accessories and modifications for pickup’s like the X-Class. This latest project is one of the most ambitious and inevitably one of its most expensive.

The X-Class itself in these pictures has been adorned with a black and red paint scheme complete with white accents. While the paint finish probably isn’t to everyone’s taste, we’re sure most will be fond of the truck’s flared wheel arches, blacked-out grille, aftermarket wheels, and distinctive bumpers.
Sitting over the bed of the X-Class is Pickup Design’s StyleRack bike carrier that incorporates an electric lifting system and doesn’t negatively impact on luggage capacity. Then we come to the pièce de résistance.
To ensure cycling enthusiasts can escape the city for an extended period of time, the tuner has developed a bespoke trailer that hooks onto the X-Class’s tow bar. While no interior images of the trailer have been provided, we’re told it houses four beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen. From the outside, it looks far more appealing than most trailers thanks to a sleek design and a red, black, and white livery to match the X-Class.
No pricing details for the modified X-Class, bike rack, and trailer have been released as a package but it wouldn’t be cheap. After all, the bike rack along costs a cool €4,995 (US$5,429).
