Chevy only just started delivering the 2020 Corvette a couple of weeks ago, and so far, we’ve seen the mid-engine C8 at the drag strip and even in the hands of tuners such as Hennessey, which has prepped a twin-turbo kit for it.
Now, it’s time to focus our attention on cosmetics, even if the C8 is, by all means, already attractive. And we’re not talking about renderings or crazy body kits either, but a good ol’ traditional wrap which, in this case, makes it even more eye-catching – at least in the eyes of this author.
The car in question has received a custom treatment that combines ‘Iced Red Titanium’ with ‘Morpheus Black’ accents and other custom branding. This ‘Vette started life a white and black car, before the team disassembled it to apply the wrap on every crease and curve. If you’re into the technical stuff, or want to know just how arduous this process can be, then you will have to watch the video posted below, as it shows a time-lapse of the project, and it’s quite satisfying to be honest.
The 18-and-a-half-minute long clip ends with the owner taking it to the streets to capture the reaction of bystanders, proving that the C8 is a magnet for petrol heads and even the law enforcement.
The key features that need to be remembered are the sub-$60,000 starting MSRP, 6.2-liter LT2 V8 placed behind the seats, which when optioned with the $5,000 Z51 package, makes 495 HP and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, for a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in under 3 seconds and a top speed 194 mph (312 km/h).
