Not long before almost half the globe entered lockdown, Ferrada filmed a new video to promote its latest product starring the BMW M8 Coupe Competition, and it’s just what the doctor ordered.
The 3-minute long clip shows the top model in BMW M’s lineup causing havoc on the tarmac by power sliding, doing donuts and burnouts, all for the sake of promoting a new set of wheels.
Review: New BMW M8 Competition Is A 616 HP Super GT Ready To Crush Continents
The FR7 series is available for different cars, in multiple widths and finishes, has 20 or 21 inches in diameter and a seven-spoke pattern. On the M8, the 10.5×21-inch front and 12×21-inch rear wheels, with a matte black look, were hugged by grippy tires from Pirelli.
Except for the new running shoes, the rest of the car remains stock, but it’s not like it needs a steroid shot, as the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, shared with the latest M5, churns out 616 HP (625 PS / 460 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.
Getting on pedal will reward you as the M8 Coupe Competition does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds officially. The time could drop to 2.88 seconds, with a skilled driver behind the wheel and in perfect weather conditions, as it was proved during the media launch last year. With the throttle all the way down, it maxes out at up to 189 mph (304 km/h).
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can’t afford it, but that’s okay, because with an MSRP of $146,000 in the U.S., many of us can’t.
