Well, apparently it’ll take more than a global viral pandemic to stop America’s truck industry from churning out new special edition models, as Ram just announced their new 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition truck, offered exclusively in Texas and its neighboring states.
Prices start from $45,380, plus a $1,695 destination charge, with sales getting under way in the second quarter of 2020.
The Laramie Southwest Edition is a new luxury trim, specifically designed for the largest truck-buying region in the world. It packages together popular appearance and luxury features found on other Ram products.

“For nearly 20 years, Ram has recognized that Texas and America’s Southwest are the center of the truck universe,” said Ram North America exec Mike Koval. “Ram was the first manufacturer to offer a Texas-exclusive model and the Lone Star edition remains our most popular truck in Texas. Our new Ram Laramie Southwest Edition adds the segment’s best combination of performance, capability, luxury and technology.”
On the outside, this new spec comes with body-colored bumpers, mirrors and grille surround for a more sophisticated appearance, according to Ram. Other features include the power side steps and various subtle chrome highlights, such as the tow hooks, grille inserts, body side moldings and polished 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the Ram 1500 Laramie Southwest Edition boasts the FCA Group’s Uconnect 4C infotainment system with a large 12-inch touchscreen display, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, electronic trailer brake control, automatic high beam headlights, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, ParkSense Front and Rear Park-Assist with Stop, a remote tailgate-release feature and rain-sensing wipers.
Furthermore, buyers can choose between bench and bucket seats, although it’s the bucket seat option that gives you a heavy-duty Mopar locking console as standard.
The new spec is available in all powertrain configurations, as well Quad and Crew Cab body configurations, with 5 ft 7 inch (Crew only) or 6 ft 4 inch bed lengths.
