Toyota has dropped the official pricing and specifications for the new Corolla Trek in the United Kingdom, a jacked-up version of the compact car available with an estate body style.

Local pricing starts at £29,225 ($36,359) for the version that packs a 1.8-liter hybrid unit with 122 HP, and £30,950 ($38,505) for the 2.0-liter variant, which provides 184 HP. For reference, the RAV4 Hybrid can be had from £30,970 ($38,530), and for around £5,000 ($6,221) more, customers can opt for a Land Cruiser.

Riding 20 mm (0.8 in) higher than the regular Corolla Touring Sports hybrid, this new Trek variant features front and rear underbody protection, wheel arch cladding, honeycomb grille, LED headlamps, fog lamps, rear privacy glass, 17-inch alloy wheels and ‘Trek’ logos added on the tailgate and door steps.

Complementing the standard gear inside is the two-tone textile upholstery, combined with wood-finish elements on the dashboard. The 7-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, 8-inch infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration and a few other features are also found onboard.

The Toyota Safety Sense suite of safety systems is also included, featuring adaptive cruise control with auto stop/start, pre-collision safety with day and night pedestrian and cyclist detection, traffic sign recognition, lane trace assist and intelligent auto high beams.

Presented last fall, the 2020 Corolla Trek rivals the likes of the Ford Focus Active and will continue to be assembled at the Burnaston plant, in Derbyshire, UK, for the European market – when manufacturing resumes.
