The 2020 Toyota Supra and the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS are two excellent sports cars and Redline Reviews is here to see which the best is.

On paper, the two match up very well. Powering the Toyota Supra is BMW’s B58 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine that’s good for 335 hp and 365 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque. Grunt is sent exclusively through the rear wheels courtesy of an eight-speed transmission, sending the Japanese sports car to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

By comparison, the Porsche Cayman GTS features a smaller 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 360 hp and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. This engine isn’t loved by all Porsche enthusiasts, so much so that the car manufacturer recently re-introduced a flat-six into the range. Nevertheless, it does offer good performance and can propel the sports car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds and a 180 mph (290 km/h) top speed.

The first half of the review focuses on the exterior designs of the two sports cars before moving to their respective interiors. Whereas the cabin of the Porsche Cayman feels very spacious and airy, the interior of the Supra feels quite restrictive and dark, something we can attest to.

As for price, the soon to be replaced 2020 Toyota GR Supra (there’s a more powerful 381-hp 2021MY coming this year) starts from $49,990, while the Porsche 718 GTS isn’t available any more (it will be replaced by the 4.0 GTS this summer), bast the 2019MY was priced from a much steeper $80,700.

We won’t tell you how the reviewer thinks the two compare from a driving experience but keep in mind, one has a front-mounted six-cylinder while the other uses a mid-mounted four-cylinder, meaning they do feel quite different.
