After some cold-weather testing performed last year close to the Arctic Circle, the next-generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class was recently taken to the Nürburgring for further chassis tuning and refining.
The range-topping version of the all-new S-Class will pretty much retain the looks of its predecessor, bar the obvious changes performed at both ends. Fans of the luxury car brand should expect to see the model-specific grille, flanked by the new headlights, new bumpers, pop-out door handles, different taillights and the usual revisions surrounding the wheels and paint finishes.
Since the interior of the upcoming Maybach S-Class has yet to open up to the camera, we can only guess that it will be jammed with all sorts of luxury features, benefitting from the best materials and build quality Mercedes-Benz has to offer.

Users will be isolated from the exterior by the thick glass and extra sound-proofing and will be surrounded by the most modern technology package. A wide selection of upholstery, trims and options will make it highly customizable.
The German challenger to the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce is understood to retain the V12 option, at least in the top-spec. The outgoing Maybach S650 enjoys 630 PS (621 HP / 463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque from a 6.0-liter twelve-pot. The powertrain enables it to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds and up to 250 km/h (155 mph). Some sort of electrification might be planned though, in an attempt to lower the emissions.
Mercedes-Maybach might pull the cover off the new S-Class probably at the end of the year or in early 2021.
