This is perhaps the weirdest thing you will see all day, and it comes from the team at Garage54 in Russia, which you may remember from previous oddball efforts like the Hummer on mini 13″ wheels.
So, what did they do this time? Well, they decided to turn a BMW 3-Series E30 into a giant ice cube, for the sake of science YouTube views. The classic Bimmer may be considered a collectable in most parts of the world when in superb condition and low mileage or in M3 trim, but abused models are a dime a dozen. As a result, it was seen as good candidate for the job.

The crew started by building a platform out of wooden planks, filling it with water and letting it freeze. Then, they changed the fluids of the car, filled the tank with fuel and pushed it to its new parking spot. After that, the arduous process of hosing the 3er began, which lasted a very, very long time. They started filming on October 27 last year, so they probably sat many months on it.
Eventually, they managed to turn it into a giant ice cube. However, since it spent that much time covered up by a very thick layer of ice, it’s obvious that some components froze up. That includes the suspension, brakes, transmission and others, but what about the engine, as the whole purpose was to see if it fires up again. Get ready for 18 minutes of cringing if you’re an E30 fan, because aside from the ice, the video also includes a chainsaw and even a heavy duty vehicle that needed to be brought in.
