The crew at Garage54 has come up with yet another build, which is as ridiculous as it is funny, crazy, unique and other adjectives that escape us now: a Hummer H2 on 13-inch wheels.
While that was a normal size for rims back back in the 70s and 80s for cars that were comically smaller with much fewer horses running wild under the hood, seeing an SUV that is larger and probably even heavier than a tool shed riding on such small wheels is like seeing a massive bodybuilder trying to do a pirouette on heels.
More From Garage54: Russian UAZ Transformed Into A Life-Size Tesla Cybertruck Replica
As you probably figured out, it’s not easy to find 13-inch wheels that can be fitted to an H2, especially in rural Russia, which is why the people behind the project had to modify a set, using a plasma cutter and a hammer – that’s such a Clarkson thing, isn’t it? After some adjustments, they put on some gold paint to contrast the black exterior of the truck – as if the size alone wasn’t enough – and they were fitted to all four corners.
Now, they may have passed the photoshoot session, but are the handcrafted wheels suitable for a journey? Unfortunately, since the roads nearby were very bumpy and the H2 needed a custom body kit to be turned into a veritable low-rider, they couldn’t take it out too far, but it did manage to hit around 50 mph (80 km/h) while traveling on ice and snow. And yes, it did turn heads, even in Russia, as you are about to see.
