Short of looking at its specs sheet, we reckon this 2020 Austin Yellow BMW M5 Competition is about as well specified as an M5 can get nowadays.
The car is on display at the automaker’s Abu Dhabi showroom, featuring a stunning colorway, both inside and out, plus the optional M Driver’s Package, which lifts your otherwise electronically-limited top speed all the way to 305 km/h (190 mph).
We’ll start from the outside and work our way in, since the Austin Yellow paint job is the first thing we noticed. This color was introduced on the last M3 and M4 models, and later became part of the BMW Individual catalog.

While the 20-inch M Y-spoke bi-color wheels came at no extra cost, the owner of the car did go into his or her pocket for the M Carbon Ceramic brakes, which cost $8,500 in the U.S. This is on top of the previously-mentioned M Driver’s Package, which costs $2,500.
Moving on to the splendid BMW Individual Caramel Merino leather interior, we can’t help but appreciate the contrast between the “caramel” seats, center tunnel, door panels and lower dash, and the black leather on top with additional Caramel stitching and light-color wood trim.
A quick glance inside the cabin also reveals the presence of BMW’s Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround sound system ($3,400), as well as the Rear-Seat Entertainment Professional system ($2,200).
Powering the 2020 BMW M5 Competition is a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine, producing 617 HP (625 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. In a straight line, it will hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.1 seconds – or 3.3 seconds if you’re counting to 100 km/h (62 mph).
