To the uninitiated, this might look like any last generation Ford Falcon but it’s not. Instead, it is one of the most insane performance sedans out of Australia and is currently for sale through Australian Muscle Car Sales in Sydney.

This Falcon started out life as a limited-edition XR8 Sprint model, one of just 750 examples ever built. As standard, the car left Ford’s Australian factory with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine churning out 462 hp (or 536 hp on overboost), enough to propel it to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds. Not bad, right? But that wasn’t enough for some.

Eager to see just how far the car could be pushed, Premcar Engineering Group set about working its magic on the powertrain, redesigning the intake manifold so the supercharged V8 now delivers a neck-snapping 655 hp at 6,800 rpm and 555 lb-ft (753 Nm) of torque.

In a bid to ensure the car corners just as well as it goes in a straight-line, Premar has also fitted a new power steering pump for a more precise steering feel while also installing 12-way adjustable coilovers at all four corners. The car also sports lighter wheels and sits on Michelin Cup 2 tires that are 295 mm wide.

The listing reveals this epic Aussie family sedan has just 1,800 km (1,118 miles) on the clock and an asking price of AU$89,500 (US$56,889). While that may sound like a lot, it’s actually a bit of a bargain considering the modifications and the fact the XR8 Sprint started at AU$59,990 (US$38,131) and is expected to increase in value due to its rarity and desirability as one of Australia’s last domestic performance cars.
