If you’re wondering what getting back to work might look like at the factory where you’re currently employed, look no further than Lear Corp’s new safety guidelines.

The auto seating supplier released its so-called “Safe Work Playbook” as a PDF file, which you can read or download from here. As you can see, there are no fewer than 51 pages, outlining some extremely meticulous protocols.

These range from advanced social-distancing practices to the on-site health screening of workers, visitors and contractors. The Playbook even offers advice on how to set up a “Pandemic Prevention Team” to coordinate operations and virus responses.

Lear says that plants and various work sites should be 100% disinfected and that workers need to be trained as per guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the World Health Organization.

“This has been a difficult time for everyone, and reestablishing a workplace where employees feel comfortable performing their jobs safely is a multi-faceted challenge,” wrote Lear CEO, Ray Scott in the manual’s cover letter. “It is our hope that by sharing this resource we can help your organization accomplish the same goals, as everyone adapts to new operating protocols in today’s still challenging conditions.”

There’s also a legal disclaimer we should note, with Lear stating that “some or all the information contained in this document may not be applicable to other businesses or places of work.”

Carmakers supplied with seats and electronics systems by Lear have already announced delays in resuming production – for example Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, who now intends to progressively restart its manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Canada beginning May 4, instead of April 14, reports Autonews.
