In a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus, California has ordered its residents to stay at home but over the weekend, authorities discovered a plethora of motorists out and about enjoying the gorgeous weather when they shouldn’t have been.

Taking to Facebook, the California Highway Patrol – West Valley posted a host of photos of various performance cars and motorcycles being pulled over and drivers slapped with fines for an array of offenses.

In one photo, police snapped an image of a silver Porsche 911 GT3 that was allegedly caught driving 84 mph (135 km/h) in a 50 mph (80 km/h) zone. In another photo, California Highway Patrol pulled over a C6-generation Chevrolet Corvette that was driving on Pacific Coast Highway without a front plate and fitted with a modified exhaust and a cold air intake.

Authorities also pulled over a bright blue Lamborghini Huracan Performante after the driver reportedly drove around barricades on a road that has been closed off to motorists. Speaking of closed roads, authorities have blocked off the Mulholland Highway snake for cars and motorcycles and is only allowing pedestrians and cyclists to use it.

Some people clearly aren’t fans of the work local police are doing, however. On one photo of the aforementioned Corvette being pulled over, one Facebook user sarcastically wrote, “Oh no, not a cold air intake, how will we ever recover this travesty. Losers.”
