Still dreaming about changing your ride and getting a spacious SUV big enough for the entire family? Well, maybe you’re not looking where you should, because East Coast Defender’s (ECD) new custom Land Rover Defender could be exactly what you need.

Named the Project Olsen, it is, like 99 percent of their vehicles, a previous generation Defender. The custom D110 is finished in Corris Grey and rides on a set of 18-inch wheels, named the ‘Defend 1983’, hugged by all-terrain tires from BFGoodrich.

The fender flares, steel front and rear bumpers, exoskeleton, new grille, trail lights mounted on the roof and additional lights placed above the rear door are also part of the build.

While typical three-row SUVs offer seating for 6 or 7 people, ECD’s Project Olsen can actually sit nine. Yes, you heard that right, 2 at the front, 3 on the rear bench and another four on the inward-facing jump seats. And if you’re worried about the luggage, you can haul quite a few things on the roof, and getting there is done by using the rear ladder.

The seats, door cards and dashboard have been wrapped in leather and the steering wheel comes from Momo and features a three-spoke design, combining metal with wood. The infotainment system was made by Sony and is hooked up to the premium audio that will keep the party going no matter where you are. Finally, the Defender has been equipped with rear HVAC vents and a wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones.

As with most of their projects, this one also packs the Chevrolet 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine that’s paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. No details surrounding output and torque have been released, but rest assures, it will have plenty of power.
