The 2021 Hyundai Elantra represents a significant improvement over the outgoing model and this clip from Asian Petrolhead explores the exterior of the vehicle and provides an in-depth look at the interior.
Hyundai, like some other car manufacturers including Toyota, has introduced a number of models in recent times with edgier and more eye-catching designs than their predecessors, and the new Elantra makes no exception.
As with the latest Hyundai models, the Elantra has been shaped by the marque’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language. At the front, you will find a ‘parametric-jewel-pattern’ grille that flows seamlessly into a set of angular headlights.

The edgy looks continue at the sides with strong body lines, while at the rear we can see a sloping roofline and ‘H-Tail’ taillights. Regardless of whether or not you like the new look, it will certainly stand out in traffic, particularly when painted in a bright shade.
When sitting behind the wheel, the updates become particularly apparent. For example, there is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional 10.25-inch infotainment system. The Elantra detailed by the YouTuber has an intriguing two-tone interior finish combining black leather with grey accents. Another important update is the fact that the infotainment system supports Hyundai’s latest UI which appears to be much more modern than what the brand currently uses for its overseas models.
U.S. shoppers will have two powertrain options. The first is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 147 HP and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque, mated to Hyundai’s version of a CVT. The second option is a hybrid variant that combines a 1.6-liter GDI Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 1.32 kWh lithium-ion battery pack for a total of 139 HP and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm).
