Codemasters’ upcoming F1 2020 video game is taking a page from the playbook of other sports gaming franchises such as FIFA, Madden and NBA 2K, letting the player take the reigns of a team and act as the manager.
F1 2020 will launch worldwide on Friday, July 10 2020 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC (DVD and via Steam), and for the first time, Google Stadia.
With the new ‘My Team’ mode, players can now create their own F1 team and “take their place alongside the established 2020 line-up, with a new driver-manager experience offering a unique insight into the world of F1.”

Both through ‘My Team’ as well as through the game’s already well-established ‘Career’ mode, players will now be able to choose their season lengths. You can either do an official full 22-race season, or go with either 16 or 10 races. And yes, the new Hanoi and Zandvoort circuits are now included.
“F1 2020 promises to be our biggest and most innovative title to date,” said Codemasters exec Paul Jeal. “Our core players will welcome even greater gameplay depth with the introduction of our brand-new My Team feature, alongside three customisable season lengths which allows them to pick their favourite tracks. In the year where Lewis Hamilton is going for his seventh World Championship, we celebrate the greatest F1® driver of all time with our Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition, which we know will prove popular with our community.”
What is the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition you ask? It’s a new mode that lets you drive as the legendary German racer in four of his most iconic cars: 1991 Jordan 191, 1994 Benetton B194, 1995 Benetton B195 and 2000 Ferrari F1-2000.
