Genesis is on a quest to insert themselves among the globe’s most popular premium car brands outside of the German big three and looking at their numbers, at least in the United States, they seem to be doing fairly well.
In order to double down on its status, the Korean carmaker introduced a brand new design language, seen here on the new GV80 SUV and the all-new G80 saloon.
These two (related, mechanically) cars were spotted together in their homeland, and thanks to Bobaedream we can get a better feel for how they look next to each other, which is helpful if you’re still trying to gauge their dimensions, at least visually.

The previously-mentioned design language is called “Athletic Elegance”, giving both vehicles large crest grilles, split quad headlights and sweeping lines front to back. So if you appreciate this type of look which some find blends design elements from Audi and Bentley, then there’s no reason why you wouldn’t consider either of the two models, as opposed to say rivals from Lexus (RX/GS), Volvo (XC90/S90) or Jaguar (F-Pace/XF).
As for their interiors, there are similarities, like how both vehicles have rotary shift dials or the positioning of the infotainment display, but if you look really close, the cabins actually feature many moderate differences, from the door panels to the climate control stack, air vents and even the steering wheel. It’s definitely not a copy-paste situation.
With pricing, Genesis has yet to let us know how much people will need to pay in order to purchase the all-new G80. The GV80 however costs upwards of $48,900 in the U.S, although if you want it with real-wheel drive (which you probably do), that’ll be another $5,750.
