The second-generation BMW 3 Series, known as the E30 for admirers of the cult, has achieved fame as one of the most engaging and beloved vehicles to come from Bavaria.
That’s especially true for the M3 iterations, but even lesser variants are known to offer a well-balanced and pure rear-wheel drive driving experience. Mind you, the E30 is also known for being the first 3 Series generation to offer all-wheel drive.
AWD was available exclusively in the 325iX, which was powered by a 2.5-liter straight-six gasoline engine rated at 168 HP (170 PS) and 164 lb-ft (222 Nm) of torque. Offered only as a four-door sedan in the United States for the 1988, 1990 and 1991 model years, the BMW 325iX can easily be recognized by the fender flares and larger side skirts to go with them.

If we’ve whetted your appetite, allow us to introduce to you a 1991 BMW 325iX that’s up for sale in South Hadley, Massachusetts for $6,000. The owner describes this white 325iX as a “super clean” E30, though the photos reveal that the sport cloth upholstery and engine bay could do with some cleaning.
What matters more is that there don’t seem to be any significant defects inside and out, and the seller claims no rust is affecting the bodywork except for some surface spots.
By now you’ve certainly noticed that this 1991 BMW 325iX is stock, so it would make a great candidate for a complete restoration. Almost everything is original on this AWD sports sedan minus the H&R lowered springs and an original front lip, the same that was used in the BMW 318iS / 320iS models. Interestingly, the car is said to have had only one owner from new.
The mileage is not disclosed but the seller does say the timing belt was changed at 234,000 miles (376,600 km). We assume he mentioned that because it happened recently. That’s a lot of miles so an engine inspection would be a good idea before buying the car.
