What you’re looking at is quite possibly the ugliest Porsche 928 on earth and it’s current up for sale on Craigslist in Mission Hills, California.
The Porsche 928 was built by the German car manufacturer between 1977 and 1995 and originally conceived as the successor to the 911. While the 928 never did replace the 911, it was an appealing Grand Tourer and remains a favorite among many Porsche enthusiasts.
Despite the car’s heritage, however, the owner of this particular example has adorned it with such distasteful modifications that it looks more like a cheap 928 replica than a real example.

For starters, the exterior is in absolutely horrible shape with the red paint badly deteriorated after clearly being left out in the elements for years. You’ll also notice that the car is no longer a coupe and has been converted into a speedster without a retractable roof. Consequently, it’s little surprise that the interior is in a sad state of affairs and covered in dust and dirt. Based on the rust visible in the trunk, it seems likely the car is kept outside even when it’s raining.
The seller claims that the vehicle’s V8 engine and automatic transmission are in good working order but that the car does need a new water pump. Based on how poorly maintained the interior and exterior of the car are, however, we wouldn’t be surprised if the powertrain needs a lot of TLC.
No mileage details have been offered but the owner is asking $3,000 for the car. That’s extraordinarily little for a 928 as most cheap examples range from between $10,000 to $20,000 with later model year examples fetching over $50,000 and prices hitting six-figures for low-mileage 928s.
