If you love agile, rear-wheel drive sports cars capable of putting a huge smile on your face, the Honda S2000 definitely fits that bill, regardless of spec.
However, there’s the S2000, and then there is the S2000 CR, which stands for Club Racer. The latter is a track focused variant built between 2007 and 2009, with only 625 units ever produced for America. This particular 2008 model is getting auctioned off through Bring a Trailer with just 1,272 miles (2,047 km) on its 2.2-liter VTEC inline-four.
Out of those 625 units, only 140 were finished in Rio Yellow Pearl, which is the color you see here.

Club Racer models weigh less and feature better overall performance than your standard S2000, despite the engine remaining exactly the same, at 237 HP (241 PS) and 162 lb-ft (218 Nm) of torque, channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Changes include a lower ratio steering rack, revised exhaust, black lug nuts, stiffer suspension, wider rear tires and a body kit. The latter is comprised of a redesigned front lip and a large rear wing, both of which boost the car’s track day credentials.
Inside there are cloth seats with yellow upholstery and contrast stitching (also present on the steering wheel, door panels), plus faux carbon fiber overlays on the center console. The CR came standard without a radio or air conditioning, although this model is fitted with both of those features. It also comes with a peak power indicator light for the gauge cluster.
Overall, the Honda S2000 CR weighs some 90 lbs (41 kg) less than the standard model, and is noticeably more fun to drive. We’re already envious of whoever ends up buying this car, especially since it looks brand new.
