A fun day at the track turned into a bad dream in a few seconds for the owner of this Mugen Honda S2000, who was running behind Volkswagen Golf R32 Mk5 on the Nurburgring.
As the German hot hatch approaches a left turn, it begins to brake, as several bikes were stopped on both sides of the German track, apparently assisting a fellow biker who had an accident.

While the Golf managed to pull over just in time, the driver of the Japanese sports car lost control. You can see the driver apply pressure to the brake pedal, with one hand on the gear lever, when physics kicked in. The vehicle started wiggling, and there was no time for recovery, so in the blink of an eye, he lost control and smashed into the side barrier head-on.
The S2000 then bounced off, did a 180-degree turn and appears to have scraped against the same barrier with the rear end as well. Looking to clear the track as soon as possible, the driver pointed it in the right direction again and parked it behind the Golf R32 mentioned above. He then pulled on the parking brake, caught his breath for a few seconds and got out to assess the damages.
The impact was not brutal enough to deploy the airbags, but we can tell you straight away that the car will need to pay a visit to the body shop. The whole incident was filmed from inside the S2000 and posted online last week.
