Grand Theft Auto is among the most popular gaming franchises in all of history, with its fifth installment (GTA V) claiming the title of ‘best selling game of the decade’, despite being seven years old.
So whether you’re still playing single player mode or you’re exploring GTA Online, odds are you’re looking forward to the day when there will be an official announcement regarding GTA VI, or whatever it will end up being called.
Until then, we’ll just have to make do with rumors and reports, the latest one being that Rockstar Games, the studio behind Grand Theft Auto, has already begun working on the next GTA, reports IGN.

The information comes from an anonymous source “close to Rockstar Games”, claiming that the next GTA is “early in development” and that the company is considering ways in which to avoid crunch issues.
One way the studio could do that is by opting for “a moderately sized release that is then expanded with regular updates over time, which may help mitigate stress and crunch.”
While that sounds like an interesting concept, nothing’s been confirmed officially by Rockstar, which means all we can do is wait until they finally announce something regarding what could very well be the world’s most eagerly anticipated video game.
Also, even a moderately sized release will probably still be quite large by regular game standards, especially since previous rumors regarding GTA VI spoke about the action taking place in multiple cities, not just one. Wouldn’t that be something?
