If FCA’s sketch battle is a little plebeian for your tastes, you’re in luck as Rolls-Royce has launched a design challenge of their own.

Dubbed the Young Designer Competition, the event is designed to “provide parents and children with a welcome distraction during the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.”

The competition is open to children who are up to 16 years old and it asks them to design their dream Rolls-Royce of the future. Other than that, the challenge is pretty open ended as the company wants kids to let their imaginations run wild.

Once a design has been finished, users simply visit Rolls-RoyceYoungDesignerCompetition.com and upload a picture as well as contact information and a little bit about the sketch.

Rolls-Royce’s design team will then judge the entries and pick one winner. They’ll receive a professionally rendered illustration of their design – similar to the Crabmobile seen here – and chauffeur-driven trip, with a friend, in a Rolls-Royce Phantom on their first day back to school. Runners up won’t be completely out of luck as they’ll get a signed certificate from Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös.

While the contest is global, there’s an additional prize for UK residents. One lucky winner will get a trip to school in a Rolls-Royce and their school will receive a Greenpower electric car kit which will enable them to compete in the Greenpower Challenge which is the “UK’s number-one motorsport competition for schools across Britain.”

The contest runs from now until May 18th at 12:00 BST and multiple entries are allowed. Rolls-Royce says the challenge aims to “stimulate design talent, inspire greatness, and provide a welcome distraction from self-isolation and social-distancing measures being adopted by many countries around the globe.”
