A self-proclaimed ‘salvage master’ living in Spokane, Washington has embarked on an ambitious project of trying to fix a 2019 BMW X6 M that was utterly destroyed in a crash.
We don’t have all that many details regarding the crash that left the X6 M in such a sorry state of affairs, but the YouTuber mentions it somehow slid under a semi-truck on a freeway at roughly 100 mph (160 km/h) with the images below showing it in a dilapidated state. Most notably, the driver’s door has been ripped off and a good portion of the roof has been cut, perhaps because authorities needed to cut out the driver after the crash.

Shortly after purchasing the BMW at auction, the re-builder was able to buy a set of replacement keys from a BMW dealership as the originals were lost. Much to his surprise, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 still runs. However, before celebrating too much, he had to somehow drive the SUV off the trailer it was resting on. Doing so wasn’t particularly easy and required some repairs to be done to the front suspension that suffered a badly bent upper control arm.
There are 12 videos up on YouTube chronically the rebuilding process of the SUV and all are well worth a watch if you have the time – we’ve added all of them to the playlist below. To ensure the car is rebuilt properly and is safe when used in the future, it has been fully stripped down to its bare chassis and slowly but surely will return to life with some repairs and new parts.
