If you live in Australia and you understand the local car culture, then you’ll definitely appreciate something like this low mileage 2017 Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) Senator Signature, finished in Phantom Black with a black leather interior.

The car is currently for sale at Dutton Garage, and the asking price is AU$109,990 , which is roughly $70,000 by U.S. monetary standards.

While that’s pretty steep (by any standards), the Senator that is based on the last Holden Commodore does have just 235 km (145 miles) on its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, and it’s only three years old, a Gen-F2 range model. And given that not only has domestic car production ceased, but Holden has been killed off as well, we could see prices for these special models rising in the future.

The power unit puts down 410 kW (550 HP / 557 PS) and 691 Nm (510 lb-ft) of torque, with everything going to the rear wheels, aided by a 6-speed sports automatic transmission. HSV claimed a 4.6 second run for the 0-100km/h (62mph) which is seriously quick for a family sedan.

Visually, this is a sporty-looking sedan, with beefy bumpers front and rear, as well as 20-inch forged alloy wheels, quad exhausts, side skirts, a subtle front fascia splitter, fender vents with chrome accents and HSV performance brakes.

Inside, it’s equipped with heated HSV podium seats with Alcantara trim and leather inserts, a rear-view parking camera with front and rear parking sensors, a sunroof dual-zone climate control, sat-nav, unique HSV center console, alloy pedals, HSV ’30 Years’ sill plates and floor mats, a leather-wrapped gear selector and a BOSE audio system with 9 speakers.

It even has a Heads-Up display, the proper type (projected onto the windshield), not one of those older Mazda-style ones, projected into your line of sight using a small transparent surface that sticks out of the upper dashboard.
