The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ may be one of the babies of the AMG family but as this video from AutoTopNL reveals, it is an absolute joy to drive and is very fast.
Like the previous-generation, the new CLA 45 S is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, the engine of the new car has been significantly upgraded over the previous engine and now churns out an amazing 415 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. Power is sent through all four wheels courtesy of an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Mercedes says the car is good for 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4 seconds and a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h) with the AMG Driver’s Package.

While testing out the new CLA 45 S, the driver put the car through its paces on some small backroads and wet conditions. It looks to perform very well, despite the slippery roads and pulls out of corners with excellent pace. The reviewer says that the engine of this new CLA 45 S also likes to rev much more than the previous-iteration and he says it also sounds great, despite some of the sound being funneled through the speakers.
After some driving along small country roads, the driver heads out onto the de-restricted autobahn for some top speed testing. He is able to push the car through to a top speed of 172 mph (277 km/h).
