We’re sure that the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 will be an absolute thrill but if you don’t have the money to splash out on a brand new 911 (which most of us don’t), this used 997.1 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 could be a good option.
The car is currently up for sale on Bring A Trailer and at the time of writing had attracted a highest bid of $51,823 with 8 days left in the auction. It looks to be in superb condition and despite its age, only has 32,000 miles (51,499 km) on the clock.

Porsche built the 997.1 GT3 from 2006 and 2009 before the car underwent a facelift in the form of the 997.2. This particular example is painted in Meteor Grey Metallic and is rolling in a set of epic OZ Racing 19-inch Ultraleggera HLT wheels wrapped in Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires measuring 255/35 at the front and 305/30 at the rear.
A handful of other modifications have been made to the car. For example, it has been lowered and features an aftermarket DSC controller. There are also Road Sport Supply rear toe arms and drop links for the rear sway bar.
The engine of this 911 takes the form of a 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six revving to 8,400 rpm and producing 415 hp at 7,600 rpm and 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) of torque at 5,500 rpm when it left the factory. This car features a set of WEVO hydraulic engine mounts and a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.
Correction: An earlier version of this story mistakenly called the GT3 a 992 instead of a 997.1 generation Porsche 911 in the headline.
