The electric vehicle space is set to receive yet another competitor, with New Jersey-based company Triton Solar announcing an all-electric SUV dubbed the Model H.
Triton claims to have been working on the Model H for the past 18 months and while it has no experience with building electric vehicles, is making some pretty bold claims with its first offering.
For starters, it is claimed that the gargantuan SUV will feature a 200 kWh battery pack that powers four electric motors, one at each wheel. Triton is targeting peak output of 1,500 HP and says the Model H will do 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds. As if that wasn’t bonkers enough, Triton also says that the Model H will offer 700 miles (1,126 km) of range on a single charge and be capable of towing 15,400 lbs (6,985 kg).
As mentioned, the Triton Model H is big. In fact, it is 224 inches (5,689 mm) long, 81 inches (2,057 mm) wide, and 74 inches (1,879 mm) tall. Curiously, those dimensions are virtually identical to the previous-gen Cadillac Escalade ESV. Triton says its SUV will be able to seat eight adults in comfort.

The overall shape of the Model H also bears a resemblance to the Escalade, complete with an upright front fascia and a body that seems to stretch on forever. Among the most intriguing features are the quad LED daytime running lights on either side of the front fascia, as well as prominent side skirts and unique taillights.
Order books for the Triton Model H are currently open with pre-orders being accepted with a $5,000 deposit. Those who want to secure a Founder’s Edition model need to cough up $140,000 upfront. However, with no evidence that the company has the infrastructure to build the SUV in question, it’s probably wise to steer clear for the time being.
