The 2021 model year upgrades received by the Toyota GR Supra in North America and Europe will soon find their way to Japan too, headlined by two new special edition models.
From October, Toyota will launch in Japan the GR Supra RZ Horizon Blue Edition, limited to 100 units, and the GR Supra RZ Matte Storm Gray Metallic, limited to just 27 examples.
As you’ve already guessed, both are named after their exterior colors. The Supra RZ Horizon Blue Edition features a special blue paint combined with matte black elements including the 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, mirror caps, front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser.

Inside, the Horizon Blue Edition brings sports seats decked in Alcantara and black genuine leather, as well as blue stitching across the cabin on the seats, steering wheel, dashboard and door panels. This special edition model looks very similar to North America’s 2021 Supra A91 Edition, though the Japanese model lacks the decals on the C-pillars and black carbon fiber deck lidd spoiler.
As for the GR Supra RZ Matte Storm Gray Metallic, Toyota did not reveal anything other than the limited production run of 27 units so we’ll just have to assume it features a very special hue of gray paint. Toyota Japan will accept orders for both special edition Supras from April 28, with deliveries starting in October.
The Toyota GR Supra RZ Horizon Blue Edition is priced at 7,413,000 yen (approximately $69,500), while the GR Supra RZ Matte Storm Gray Metallic costs 7,665,000 ($71,830).
Both models, as well as regular GR Supras powered by the turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine, benefit from a 14 percent power increase. The unit now makes 387 PS (382 HP / 285 kW) at 5,800 rpm.
Other upgrades for the Supra 3.0 include the addition of lightweight aluminum braces at the front for increased rigidity, along with front and rear bump stops and new damper tuning.
