Since joining Top Gear, British journalist Chris Harris has had the opportunity to test out some of the very finest cars from McLaren and in the video, these tests have all been combined into one.
Featured first is the hardcore McLaren 600LT. Unlike the 675LT before it, production of the 600LT wasn’t capped at any particular number but that doesn’t make it any less special. In fact, an argument could be made that it’s perhaps the British marque’s best street car.
Power is provided by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering 592 hp and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque. A host of sharp aerodynamic components differentiate the 600LT from the lesser 570S, most notably the fixed rear wing, new front end, and extended side skirts. It’s an absolute stunner.

Next up is the McLaren 720S. When the successor to the 650S was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, it put the supercar world on notice with hypercar levels of performance and the comfort and everyday driveability that makes modern McLaren’s so impressive on the road. It runs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 710 hp.
Then we come to the McLaren Senna which Harris decided to test back-to-back with a 650S GT3 to see how the road-going track car compares to an actual racer. While the Senna is an absolute animal and blisteringly fast around a circuit, it is nowhere near as fast as the 650S GT3. That’s not really a surprise though, is it?
