Update: We managed to talk to a source with direct knowledge on the matter and who shared exclusive details with CarScoops on what happened. However, the source asked to remain anonymous as there’s an ongoing investigation and pending litigation, with the same response given when asked about the names of those involved.
We were told that the truck driver was hired by the hauling company just four days prior to the incident, during which time, “he only did one load”, as he was not deemed fit (or stable) for the job.
Our source clarified that the driver “was mainly mad he did not get a 2020 truck … He got a 2019 truck and it was not good enough for him!”.
He added that the company allegedly decided to part ways with the driver in a civilized manner with “no arguments or heated words” with “all this happening in front of witnesses” after fully compensating him. While he “repeatedly asked to stay and work”, the owner’s mind was made up to terminate their cooperation. Before he left the trucking company’s premises, our source says that he “asked the owner if that [Ferrari GT4Lusso] is his car”. The owner said that it is indeed, to which the trucker replied “now you’ll see what happens when you f*** with me”.
“He started running towards a truck, jumped in and started spinning wheels like a crazy person. Owner ran after him, tried to stop him and he shut the door on his hand, almost causing him to fall under the truck,” our source tells us. “Then he slammed into a car once, stopped and then continued until he was on top of it with the truck”.
At that point, the owner of the damaged Ferrari and transportation company called the police, with Chicago PD officers arresting the man and filing charges.
Clarification: Do note that, from what we understand from our source, the pictured truck that was used to roll over the Ferrari was not the vehicle that had been previously given to the driver for work, but the first one he found on the parking lot on the day of the incident.
The original article from earlier this morning follows below…
An unbelievable incident surrounding a purportedly disgruntled trucker in Chicago who drove his semi on top of his boss’s Ferrari GTC4Lusso has been making the social media rounds since last night.
We’re still digging for details, including to confirm the circumstances that led to this episode as well as the identity of the involved parties. Meanwhile, a number of Illinois truckers posting on social media seem to agree that the impulsive truck driver purposely ran over the transportation company owner’s Italian exotic after a disagreement. The crash apparently happened sometime over the past few weeks.

So, what happened?
Now, here’s where the details get murky. A few, seemingly more credible, second-hand accounts are claiming on social media postings that the unnamed trucker did so after being denied a newer semi, which sounds insane, yet insanity is the only thing that would explain what we’re seeing in the pictures if this is not an accident – something we obviously can’t rule out yet.
“This driver was promised a 2020 truck but he was not producing enough to get a 2020 truck so he was denied the new truck… He got mad and slammed the truck on the owners car out of anger !!! I seen the actual video with voice and is on video the whole incident!” wrote a commentator with the initials C.B., an Illinois driver on a Facebook posting on United Truckers.

On the same thread, another truck driver, with the initials V.F., wrote: “They agree when the driver came in Chicago to start driving a new truck, and they offer him a 2019 Volvo with 50000mil and he refused to drive that 2019 Volvo asking for 2021 and he started yelling to everybody, and after couple of minutes he drove the truck into the owner of the company who was in front of that Ferrari trying to kill him.”

Other accounts are claiming that the trucker in question jumped out of the semi right before it toppled the expensive Ferrari, which is worth between $200,000 and $280,000 in the used car market.
Some postings on Reddit and Facebook supported (falsely, from what it seems) that the trucker lost his marbles after the company owner stopped paying his drivers, but from what we can deduct, that doesn’t hold true.
After checking out additional photos of the incident shared on imgur by Reddit user Nemomilo who claims to have received the set from a friend, in one of them, it appears that the trucking company might be named “Surehaul”. However, when we called in this morning to see if the company and its truck was involved, we were simply told by an employee that “you have the wrong information”.
