Dodge’s classic Power Wagon is the truck that helped build America and also served in World War II, so it deserves all the love it can get. Injecting this example with a huge dose of TLC, Legacy Classic recently uncovered its restomod, and we have to admit that we’re impressed.
Based on a 1949 Power Wagon, the project boasts timeless looks and wears a dark red paint finish, contrasted by the black steel bumpers, side steps and over fenders, as well as chromed emblems.
The truck is equipped with a winch up front that can help it clear the road ahead, help other vehicles or free itself from a sticky or a slippery situation and rides on huge off-road rubber, wrapped around a set of custom rims.

ARB locking differentials, Dana 60 axles, Warn locking hubs and a few other features are part of the build, whereas power comes from the Cummins 4BT diesel engine, with twin turbochargers, which produces 350 horsepower and 600 pound-feet (813 Nm) of torque. The four-cylinder unit is paired to a five-speed manual transmission and, in this form, the Power Wagon does the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in a “respectable time”, according to Legacy Classic, and can cruise at 80 mph (130 km/h) “all day long”.
More modern touches can be found inside, where the company fitted it with a new HVAC system, a new stereo with Bluetooth connection and USB charging ports. These complement the beige leather upholstery and floor mats, classic gauges and wooden steering wheel.
The company said that converting a Power Wagon takes over 2,000 hours, so their projects start at $350,000. Each one can be further customized and upgraded, so the sky is pretty much the limit to what they can do for clients who can afford it.
