Bugatti is gearing up to deliver the first Divos and the company has revealed more than two-thirds of customers have decided to customize their limited edition hypercar.
While most cars only offer a handful of options, Bugatti’s Sales and Operations Manager, Laure Beneteau, noted Divo buyers “dream with us” and the company can make virtually any request come true.
Since the options are virtually limitless, customers travel to Molsheim where a specialized team helps to turn their dream into reality. As part of this process, a designer and technician helps them to configure their vehicle.

How long this takes varies as sales coordinator Anne Beynat explained, “Some customers might know exactly what they want. But we also have customers whom we advise in detail, we work together with them and come up with suggestions.”
Beynat sees a lot of customization requests as clients ask to incorporate things such as family crests, national flags or their own logos into their Bugatti. Some customers also want the interior leather to match their favorite handbag or pair of shoes.
While the company is more than happy to do this, there are a few limitations. Any request “must not impair vehicle safety or change the Bugatti logo.”
For the Divo, things are a bit easier as every customer already owns at least one Chiron. This means the design team already has an idea about their preferences.
Of course, most customers want something unique. In order to accommodate these requests, the Divo’s paint job can be extensively customized and buyers can order everything from vintage leather to modern leather that matches the paintwork.
The company can also accommodate more unusual requests such as having the footprints of an owner’s child embossed in the rear panel. Bugatti has also seen requests for crystals in the cockpit and having names embroidered on the door pockets.
However, customers should be aware these special requests can take months to make happen. As Beneteau explained, it can take up to four months to develop a new color, nine months for a new leather and up to a year for a new carbon interior. That’s not too surprising as Bugatti demands their customized models are held up to the same standards as their more mainstream variants.
Bugatti noted preferences vary by region and the Asian market favors unusual colors such as transposed paint schemes. Europeans are a bit more conservative, while Americans and Middle Easterners like “eye-catching and extravagant color combinations.”
When it comes to the Divo, Bugatti says one customer worked with the design team for more than a year to customize their ride. Unsurprisingly, he can “hardly wait to receive his very personalized Divo.”
Speaking of the Divo, Bugatti revealed four bespoke configurations that have been ordered by customers. Each is unique, and the silver and blue model is particularly eye-catching.
According to Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann, “Every Divo is absolutely unique, [and] the ultimate form of luxury.” The car is also a powerhouse as it features a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine that produces 1,479 hp (1,103 kW / 1,500 PS). This enables the model to hit a top speed of 236 mph (380 km/h).
