Infiniti has joined the likes of other automakers in an effort to help pass time for those in lockdown by releasing new paper templates.
Dubbed the ‘carigami’, in a reference to the origami Japanese art of paper folding, the official sketches are available at this link, and for the build part, enthusiasts will only need a pair of scissors or a craft knife, glue, a printer and steady hands.

The 3D templates replicate the design of the Q50, QX80 and FX, on a 1:27 scale, and those who will take on the job of building the miniature Infiniti vehicles at home are encouraged to share images of their efforts on social media, accompanied by the ‘ParkitforNow’ and ‘Carigami’ hashtags.
“In this unprecedented time, where citizens of the world are doing their part to fight COVID-19 by staying at home, we wanted to develop something that will help ease the boredom, while having a bit of fun”, said Infiniti’s General Manager of the Global Brand and Marketing, Phil York. “Our hope is that lovers of cars and crafts alike will enjoy Carigami.”
Besides the 3D templates launched by Nissan’s luxury car brand, users can also build 3D miniature paper models of the Toyota GT86, which were officially launched a month ago.
Lexus has also joined the fight against boredom with a series of coloring templates, but the most comprehensive DIY offer by far comes from BMW and includes coloring pictures, board games and puzzles that should keep you entertained for days.
