Porsche designers are often derided for having the easiest job in the world as the 911 designs itself over and over again, with the rest of the lineup basically echoing the brand’s core model.

The biggest challenge for any Porsche designer would probably be to move the brand away from the influence of the 911 – assuming the management would be okay with that. We don’t even dare dream about a future 911 that breaks with tradition as that will probably not happen in our lifetime.

Outside Porsche, however, there are many designers willing to give it a go and Pawel Breshke is one of them. The independent automotive designer was kind enough to share with us his spectacular project titled Cyber 677 Porsche, which envisions a futuristic take on the 911 sports car.

He wanted to create something new instead of yet another copy of the 911 and a Cyber idea came to his mind. “This idea forced me to to break some crucial existing features of this brand, but I wanted to keep the general silhouette which is very recognizable in the whole world,” Breshke explains.

While he kept the specific 911 shape, everything else changed, including the iconic shape of the headlights which now look similar to those seen on the new Genesis GV80 and G80. Another striking detail is the lack of a rear screen or, better said, its reduction to a size that renders it unusable.

However, the Cyber 677 Porsche features rearview cameras instead of mirrors so we assume those ensure enough visibility to the rear. “The aim was to achieve a bit of a raw style which could refer to a Cyber world, but simultaneously to keep some soft surfaces so that to make the silhouette coherent,” the designer adds.

That was obviously hard to accomplish but we believe Breshke nailed it. As for the interior, it looks even more futuristic than the exterior while retaining some typical Porsche design cues such as the slim center console. Is there’s something you’d change on the Cyber 677 Porsche?

Thanks to Pawel for sharing his independent design project with us!
