Driving a Porsche, any Porsche, on the road is an unforgettable experience but the guys over at Carfection recently went one step further when they headed to the German marque’s snow circuit in the north of Finland.

Carfection headed to the facility to discover the differences between driving an ICE-powered Porsche on an ice circuit and the car manufacturer’s first all-electric production car, the Taycan, while also seeing if an EV can actually be fun to drive.

The reviewer first jumped into the driver’s seat of a bright green Porsche 911 Carrera 4S to get the feel of what it’s like to drive a sports car on ice with all of the traction and stability control systems switched off. As you can imagine, doing so isn’t particularly easy and requires great finesse of the steering and the throttle.

It wasn’t too long before the reviewer found his feet and sampled a rear-wheel 911 GT3 outfitted with one of the finest naturally-aspirated engines on the planet. The following day, and having also spent some time driving a Cayman GT4 Clubsport, it was time to sample a Porsche Taycan.

Unsurprisingly, the all-electric grunt offered up by the Taycan means it can easily be sent into some epic drifts but sadly, the reviewer says the steering feels a little bit numb compared to some of the other Porsche models which he drove. However, that doesn’t mean driving an all-electric car can’t be fun as it actually looks to be very entertaining to drive right on the edge.
