If you’re looking a pristine used convertible, look more further.

Currently listed on eBay, this 2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata is an automotive time machine that looks virtually brand new. Of course, that’s hardly surprising considering the model has only been driven 1,187 miles (1,910 km) in the past 20 years.

According to the seller, the Miata spent most of its time in a climate controlled garage. There’s no word on why the original owner rarely drove the car, but it’s excellently preserved as its paint job appears flawless and there’s no damage “whatsoever.”

The undercarriage is almost entirely devoid of rust and there doesn’t appear to be any nicks or scratches. The seller also noted the climate controlled garage helped to enable all the rubber and seals to hold up nicely and remain pliable.

The museum-like quality continues in the interior as everything appears new and unused. The only thing that’s slightly amiss is a sticker that’s peeling back on the passenger side.

The listing is light on specifics, but it says the car has air conditioning and the Hard S Suspension package. The latter is said to include Bilstein struts, uprated springs and a larger front sway bar. Other goodies include a strut tower brace, a limited slip differential and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Motivation comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 140 hp (104 kW / 142 PS). It’s connected to a five-speed manual which sends power to the rear wheels.

As of this writing, bidding is at $11,000 (£8,974 / €10,000) with a little less than two days left on the auction. However, the reserve hasn’t been met so there’s no word on how much the car will go for.
