Tuning company Hofele has just revealed its take on the perfect Mercedes-Benz GLS, dubbed the Ultimate HGLS.
Visually, the HGLS is somewhat of a mix between the regular GLS and the garish Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Located at the front is a standard GLS grille but now complete with a large Hofele logo in place of the normal Three-Pointed Star. The example pictured is also sitting on a set of chrome wheels and is rocking a two-tone, black and silver paint job.

Inside is where all the action is happening. Immediately catching the eye are the lovely white leather seats with black piping. The white theme continues across the door panels while the roof is clad in lovely white Alcantara. Those sitting in the rear also receive a set of custom neck pillows. Hofele has also outfitted the Ultimate HGLS with deep-pile lambswool floor mats.
Hofele has made its interior and exterior upgrades available for all current GLS variants. The example pictured is based on a GLS 400d, meaning it is outfitted with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six engine that is good for 326 HP and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.
While we don’t have any pricing details available for the Ultimate HGLS, it is bound to be significantly less expensive than the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 that’s expected to start at around $200,000 in the United States.
Admittedly, the Maybach takes luxury to levels beyond even what Hofele has cooked up. It is also powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 550 hp and 638 lb-ft (730 Nm) while being supplemented with a 48-volt EQ Boost system that provides an extra 22 hp and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque.
