One of the Ford Mustang Saleen S281 Extreme ‘police’ vehicles created for 2007 blockbuster Transformers will cross the auction block running between June 3-7.
The vehicle is identical to ‘Barricade’ used in the film but was one of two press cars built by Saleen to promote the movie. Mecum Auctions says this car was campaigned across the east coast of the U.S.

Adorning the outside is a classic white and black police livery that includes the infamous “To punish and enslave…” script on the rear arches. Saleen also outfitted the Mustang press car with an emergency light bar on the roof and a bumper guard at the front.
Power comes in the form of a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. While we don’t have horsepower and torque figures for the car, S281 Extreme models which Saleen sold to customers could hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 5 seconds and run down the quarter-mile in roughly 12 seconds. Top speed sits between 150 mph (241 km/h) and 160 mph (257 km/h). The car has just 4,693 miles (7,552 km) on the clock.
It’s a little difficult to determine just how much the car will fetch at auction. We know it will be sold without a reserve and a search through our archives reveals one of the three Barricade police vehicles used in the film hit eBay in 2010 with an asking price $130,000.
