When it comes to restomodding classic off-roaders, Icon comes up at the top of the list with the best in the world and their latest product is

This 1970 Ford F100 Ranger is the latest member of the company’s Reformer series, which means that the whole truck was painstakingly re-engineered from the bottom up, leaving no stone un-turned but in a way that celebrates the original styling of the popular model.

Look under the bonnet and you’ll find Ford’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, complete with around 420 HP, paired to Ford’s AOD four-speed automatic gearbox with overdrive. There’s also a Borla exhaust system that helps that V8 sing its tune but without being too shouty. Power goes to a part-time four-wheel-drive system.

The truck is now sitting on a custom chassis created in collaboration with Art Morrison, featuring the same suspension geometry with ICON’s Bronco restomod creations. The truck now features a four-link rear suspension while the front utilizes radius arms.

ICON combined Eibach coil springs with Fox dampers while the axles are beefy items from Dynatrac to further improve drivability. The brakes are a bespoke system engineered by Icon and Brembo while the wheels are custom 18-inch forged aluminum units made to look like steelies.

Although it doesn’t look like it (that’s the whole point), the interior of ICON’s Ford F100 has been completely upgraded and restored. The bench seat is now upholstered with specially-made hand-stitched leather to invoke the model’s original vinyl trim while the restored dash now features bespoke chrome aluminum switchgear and perfectly integrated digital gauges.

As with every project that bears the Icon badge, this F100 Ranger has been treated with multiple layers of surface protection and sound-proofing to make it drive and feel better than new. Even if trucks are not your thing, you have to admit that this is one finely executed vehicle.
