A 19-year-old from Coconut Creek, Florida who is currently fighting a rare blood cancer, had a wish of visiting the Subaru factory in Japan, but because of travel restrictions, that hasn’t happened. Fortunately, Make-A-Wish, Subaru, and a bunch of local Subaru enthusiasts recently joined forces to give Daniel the next best thing: a special Subaru parade right past his house.

Every year, Make-A-Wish fulfills the wishes of thousands of kids with critical illnesses and showed Daniel that they hadn’t forgotten him with the special parade.

Make-A-Wish Southern Florida says Daniel made his wish to visit Subaru’s factory in Japan more than a year ago, but chemotherapy meant he was too weak to travel. Just when he recovered, the coronavirus pandemic saw international travel grind to a halt, with Make-A-Wish deciding to postpone the granting of travel-related wishes.

While Daniel will eventually have his wish granted, Subaru of America, Subaru of Coconut Creek, and the North Broward Subaru Club gathered together to drive by his home in an epic convoy.

More than 100 vehicles participated in the parade, many of which were modified and were real head turners. The parade was led by a police escort and included Daniel’s very favorite Subaru, a WRX STI from 2004. Watch the video closely, though, and you’ll notice a Toyota Prius bizarrely sneaked its way into the parade…
