Mercedes-Benz has managed to spark many online debates when photos of the new generation S-Class with barely any camo on surfaced online earlier this week.
Now, the German company is acting like it doesn’t know about the leaks and has dropped a short video online, in which parent company Daimler CEO, Ola Kallenius, welcomes employees back to work and stands next to a camouflaged prototype of the 2021 flagship sedan.
So, in case you missed our initial coverage of the all-new S-Class, you should click on the link posted below, as it shows the BMW 7-Series, Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ fighter in all of its glory.
This Is It: 2021 Mercedes S-Class Reveals Evolutionary Exterior And Revolutionary Cockpit In New Spy Shots
The largely undisguised prototype, which likely met the crusher since the photos were taken, revealed a new grille, bumper and slimmer headlights at the front, alongside a redesigned back end which appears to have been inspired by the latest CLA.
Things are even more controversial inside, where Mercedes took inspiration from the Vision EQS study. The 2021 S-Class features a very minimalistic layout, with a two-layer dashboard, huge portrait-oriented infotainment system sitting in the middle, a secondary screen behind the redesigned steering wheel acting like an instrument panel, and slim air vents.
The model, which should launch in Europe this fall and go on sale before the end of the year, is expected with new engines. Electrification could be part of the offering, with either mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid systems – or perhaps both – as well as a V12 that will power range-topping variants. For now, just act like you don’t know anything about it and check out the 2021 S-Class in the official teaser shared below.
