Ford Mustangs have seemingly gotten bored crashing on the street, so they’re taking the action back to the track where it belongs.

In this clip uploaded to YouTube, we can see a drag race between a relatively new Mustang and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.

The driver of the Mustang is quicker to react and is rewarded with a commanding lead. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse as the car exits the field of view.

When it re-enters the frame, we can see the Mustang making a hard right and then spinning out of control. The pony car’s rear end eventually slams into the wall as the Evo X driver hits the brakes in a futile attempt to stop. This helps to minimize the force of the impact, but the two cars hit and an object – possibility a side mirror – can be seen flying off the track and over the barricades.

While it isn’t immediately clear what caused the Mustang to go sideways, the video’s description says the driver blew a rear tire as he didn’t let off throttle when his tires were spinning. That seems plausible as the Mustang was towed off the track with the assistance of a cart beneath the blown rear wheels.

The video doesn’t show the full aftermath, but the Mustang suffered a dented rear fender and a busted bumper. We can also see a broken taillight, a smashed exhaust tip and some front end damage.
