How fast is the new BMW M8 Competition Coupe? Well, that depends on who you ask, but the German car firm would tell you that it needs precisely 3.2 seconds to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) and will max out at up to 190 mph (305 km/h) with the optional M Driver’s Package.
Others have clocked it at 2.88 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint, but Manhart claims that their tuned example will do it in a neck-snapping 2.6 seconds. From 62 to 124 mph (100-200 km/h), the super GT apparently needs only 5.7 seconds, while in the attached video from Autotop, the MH8 800 topped out at 311 km/h or a smudge over 193 mph. According to Manhart at least, this makes it “the fastest M8 Competition in the world”.

To achieve this performance, the tuner has unlocked 811 HP (823 PS / 605 kW) and 774 lb-ft (1,050 Nm) from the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 by equipping it with a new turbocharger kit and intercooler and revising the software of the ECU. In case you need reminding, the stock M8 Competition Coupe comes with 616 HP (625 PS / 460 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm), channeling it to the all-wheel drive system via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
An aftermarket exhaust system is also available from Manhart, with optional carbon or ceramic-coated tailpipes, valve control and a few other gizmos. The ride has been dropped by 1.2 inches (30 mm) thanks to KW coilovers, and the suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes can be further upgraded.
In the looks department, the M8 Competition Coupe has gained a front apron, rear spoiler lip and diffuser insert made of carbon fiber. The gold strips contrast the black paint finish and the color was replicated on the 9×21-inch front and 10.5×21-inch rear concave wheels, which are shod with the 265/30 and 305/25 tires respectively.
The final upgrade concerns the interior, which has been customized with carbon fiber accents on the steering wheel and paddle shifters.
